Chikunto Safaris
Chikunto Safaris is a boutique luxury safari camp / lodge with an ideal location on the banks of the meandering Luangwa River, inside Zambia’s world-renowned South Luangwa National Park, known as 'The Valley of the Leopards'.
The 5 x deluxe Tented Suites include 1 x 2-bedroomed Family Suite and 1 x Combination Suite that consists of a main suite that is directly linked by a private walkway to an amazing elevated Sleep Out & Stargazing Platform.
Activities onsite range from daily morning, afternoon and night game drives, optional Walking Safaris and visits to a local school or village as well as visits to some of the local craft shops in the nearest town of Mfuwe. All geared towards connecting you with the wildlife and the local community.
Many of the Chikunto guests stay for between 5 and 10 nights, allowing them to make the most of the onsite activities, to form a closer connection with the African bush and to make use of the onsite saltwater counter current swimming pool and Sleep Out & Stargazing Platform.
There are regular internal flights from the capital Lusaka, itself easily accessed internationally to the nearest regional airport at Mfuwe. The Chikunto Team will collect you from and return you to the airport, with most packages including all your transfers, activities, meals and drinks.
Chikunto manages to combine the best elements of being a Lodge with those of being a Camp - delivering an authentic African ‘bush’ experience whilst at the same time underpinning it with a high level of discrete luxury.
Chikunto Safaris can also help create an itinerary for you, if you wish, that combines South Luangwa with visits to Victoria Falls / Livingstone or other Zambian National Parks like Kafue or Lower Zambezi.
